Bay Area Divers SCUBA club location is in the south Houston / Clear Lake / Galveston Texas area.

BAD strives to provide opportunities to dive locally in order to improve skills and

offers affordable scuba dive trips abroad. Check out the photos for trips and event links.

Our local dives gives new divers the chance to practice and to dive with seasoned veterans.

It provides experienced divers a reason to get wet (and we never get enough of that!)

If you are a visitor to our site and are in the Houston area, please come to our dive club monthly meeting.

The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend our activities.

Participation Winners at the BADIVERS 35th Anniversary Party

The annual participation drawing was a great success at the Anniversary Dinner in November. Winners of this year’s drawing were David Romano and Wendy Whitehouse who each got $300 gift certificates to Maximum Scuba that were bought with proceeds from the 50/50 drawings. Everyone who has participated in meetings and events this year had their tickets in the drawing. Every time you go to a meeting, renew membership, become a new member, bring a guest to a meeting, recruit a new member, participate in an event or dive, volunteer, go to a board of directors meeting, or submit an article or picture to the website or newsletter, you get another chance to win. So keep participating and playing 50/50, and who knows, maybe you could be the winner in 2010!

BAD Member of the Month

June

Seldon Crump

Seldon Crump started diving in 1990, while living in Costa Rica . She became a dive master and worked for a resort in Drake Bay for over three years. Now back in Alvin , Seldon and her husband have been members of BAD since January 2010.

July

Mark Shone

New member, Mark Shone, attended his first meeting of BAD and was selected as Diver of the Month. Mark has been diving in Texas and Isla Majeres. Mark’s other hobbies include motorcycling, hunting, sports, and boating.

August

Doreen Wells

Doreen received her Open Water cert from Maximum Scuba in June 2010 and Advanced in August. She just returned from the 9th annual Bill Jones Cozumel trip and had an incredible time. Her other hobbies include bicycling, wine tasting, sailing and traveling.
